EloView® Major Feature Release

Device Version

  • 3.44 for I-Series 2.0, Elo Backpack®, PayPoint® Plus
  • 1.44 for I-Series 1.0

The EloView product team is excited to announce a major feature release. Below is a list of key enhancements.

Enhanced - Schedule Content Behavior
Previously, if you tried to drag-and-drop content onto a device which had scheduled content attached to it, the device would ignore the new content. This behavior has been improved to allow you to override scheduled content with drag-and-drop action.

New - Content Pinning
Choose whether your foreground app (or another process) may bring another app into the foreground or not by using the “Content Pinning” option in device settings. When “Content Pinning” is enabled, no other application may come to the foreground, except the EloView control panel and actions.

New - Enhanced Filters
You can filter active/ playing content and view how the content was deployed to a device or group of devices. Additionally, filters are now easier to use with pre-defined checkboxes in addition to filter criteria text boxes.

Added - Wi-Fi Certificates Support
Your devices can connect to certificate-based Wi-Fi using Enrollment over Secure Transport (EST).

Enhanced - Single Sign-On (SSO)
This release will enable API token for SSO (SAML) based logins. Implementing this in conjunction with SSO (SAML) will improve login experience and security.

Security updates
Google July vulnerability patches and various security updates to 2.0 devices.

Other:

  • Improved performance of scheduled OTA for a large number of devices
  • Fixed an issue where, in certain cases, portal language settings overrode a device language setting
  • Enhanced the device screenshot view to include Android package name and version

Method of Distribution
This update will be available to apply via Advanced OTA on September 24, 2019 and will become the default to update from the device control panel on October 1, 2019. There is no downtime associated with this update. As always, your devices will never prompt for an update or auto-update. Once the update is available, devices can be updated from the EloView Portal or at the device-level from the EloView Control Panel.
